Baltimore Irish Trad Fest

The fifth annual Baltimore Irish Trad Fest will be held on April 22-24 and again we'll be gathering some of the world's finest traditional Irish musicians to teach workshops, perform and lead sessions. There will be an all-star concert on Saturday evening at the Creative Alliance, workshops on Saturday, a tune teach on Sunday and sessions all weekend long! Visit for details.

Earle Hitchner, The Wall Street Journal New York and subsequently Baltimore have produced some of the finest masters of traditional Irish music in America. New York fiddler Rose Flanagan and Baltimore based flutist Laura Byrne are two of them and tonight will be celebrating the release of their debut duo recording Forget Me Not, Traditional Irish Fiddle and Flute. They will be joined by Irish music luminaries Billy McComiskey, accordion (originally from Brooklyn, now a long time resident of Baltimore and promulgator of Irish music); from New York, Dublin born Eamon O'Leary, guitar and bouzouki, and Brendan Dolan (of the Pride of New York.) They will be joined by step dancers and surprise special guests. Fiddler Rose Flanagan, a Bronx-native now living in Rockland County, and Baltimore-based flute player Laura Byrne are much in demand as performers and music teachers.

Veterans of many a fleadh competion, ceili dance and concert, they recently collaborated to produce a duet recording, Forget Me Not, that showcases their exceptional technique and solidly traditional musical taste.

Free admission to Members of Glucksman Ireland House and to all students/faculty with a valid NYU I.D. card. For non-members: $15 donation at the door for the Blarney Star Concert Series.
